01
MAKE YOURSELF AT HOME
Your license. Your place to begin.
One-time personal license: view current price at checkout. One purchase includes two computer activations.
Purchase Sentire. Use an email you can access. After verified payment we email your license. Keep that email and order ID somewhere safe.
Activate this computer. Open Sentire, paste the complete license from your purchase email into License & purchase and choose Activate license. The app registers this installation automatically.
Add your name. In My details, enter a name and choose Save details. It stays on your computer. You can now add your first audiogram.
Paste the complete license from your email into Sentire.
Offline after activation.
First activation needs internet. Your saved computer activation is then checked offline, without a subscription or recurring internet check. Hearing records stay local.
Lost the license email or replaced a computer?
Use Email my license again with your purchase email. Paste the same emailed credential into Sentire; an existing installation recovers without using another slot. A reinstall that loses its identity uses another slot. Contact support with your order ID if both are used. Never send hearing records or the full license to support.
Use Field guide ↗ and Send feedback ↗ in the app’s sidebar whenever needed. Purchase through the official Sentire website. Your license is emailed after checkout is confirmed.
02
YOUR FIRST RECORD
The order that makes things easier.
Have the original report beside you. You can add your oldest or newest test first—Sentire sorts saved tests by their test date.
An import replaces the current draft’s threshold and speech fields after confirmation. Selecting a different PDF page also replaces those suggestions; it does not combine pages. Choose your final page before spending time correcting the values.
For an appointment with several relevant pages, review them separately and enter any additional measurements deliberately. Sentire does not automatically merge a whole report into one test.
03
BRING YOUR PAPERWORK
Start with the report. Let Sentire make a draft.
Choose Add audiogram in the sidebar.
In Bring your report, choose Choose audiogram and open a PDF, PNG, or JPG. Files must be under 15 MB; PDFs can have up to 10 pages.
Watch the progress bar. It first shows transfer to the local importer, then animates while Sentire renders the PDF and recognizes charts. Processing can take up to a minute.
If the PDF has several pages, use PDF page in the source-review controls to select the page that contains the audiogram.
Enter the Test date from the report—not today’s upload date. Sentire deliberately leaves the date blank after import.
Import is optional. Photos, handwriting, highlighted charts and separate ear panels may produce few or no suggestions. You can enter all thresholds manually: select the ear, conduction and masking options, then click the editable chart, or choose + Add measurement below it and enter the exact frequency (Hz) and level (dB HL). Enter speech results in the speech fields. The source image on the right is your reference. Add or correct points on the editable graph and use the measurement table for exact values. Match the frequency and dB labels in the report, choose the ear and symbol options, then click the matching position on Sentire’s graph. No cropping or calibration is required. Leave unclear or untested values blank and check your entries against the report.
Nothing is saved just because a file was opened. You get an editable draft, with the original page available for review.
The full page is a reference. The extracted points are suggestions.
You do not need to calibrate before uploading.
Try the complete report first. The crop, calibration, and source-capture options are fallback tools for charts the automatic importer cannot read.
See the fictional source report used in the walkthroughThis generated example is used only to demonstrate import and source review.▷ Watch: import and review a report

TAKE A SECOND LOOK
Check the values. Keep the meaning.
A recognizable chart is not a guarantee that every symbol was read. Check what is present and what is missing.
Correct page and date? Make sure the source is the intended test, then enter the clinic/provider and any test conditions.
Correct ear and conduction? Compare each suggested air point to the original report. Review suggested bone symbols too; use Add a missed point for anything omitted.
Correct frequency and dB HL? Use a row’s Source button to locate its symbol. Orange source markers indicate threshold points needing review.
Masking and response flags? Check masked/unmasked and no-response symbols manually. Import may omit or misclassify them.
Speech and reported gaps? Review these separately; a successful threshold import does not prove these panels were read.
Tick each imported row’s Checked box, or choose I checked all suggested points after reviewing all of them. Reported gaps have their own confirmation. Finally tick I have checked these measurements and choose Save audiogram.
A blank is not a zero.
Leave values missing when the report does not provide them. Zero is a real measured value. Do not fill gaps just to make the chart look complete.
What is read automatically, and what is not?
Supported colored single-grid reports may yield air thresholds, measured word-recognition table values, selected SRT/SDT/PTA summary values, and a labeled air–bone gap bar panel. Bone symbols, response-at-limit and no-response arrows need manual review/entry. Rotated, overlaid, multiple-grid, or unfamiliar layouts may need cropping, calibration or manual entry. Isolated standard black-and-white symbols can also be suggested; connected symbols may be missed.
Black-and-white reports and different layouts.
Sentire uses detected frequency/dB axes rather than fixed page coordinates for threshold suggestions. On a calibrated monochrome chart, isolated ○ and △ symbols map to right-ear red; × and □ map to left-ear blue. Bone brackets and chevrons use their orientation. Ear is never inferred from which panel a mark appears in. Check the clinic’s legend: unfamiliar or ambiguous symbols should be entered manually. Separate ear grids and dense connected black grids may need the guided missed-point tool.
Bone symbols can now be suggested too.
On supported red/right and blue/left charts, Sentire looks for isolated bone brackets and chevrons. Brackets are suggested as masked bone; chevrons as unmasked bone. The adjacent frequency line supplies the Hz value, accounting for the symbol’s display offset. Every suggestion needs checking with its Source highlight. Overlapping symbols, unclear scans, symbols touching grid lines, connected monochrome curves, and attached no-response arrows can be omitted. Missing suggestions do not mean the measurement was absent from your report.

WHEN YOU WANT TO ENTER IT YOURSELF
One measurement at a time.
Choose Add audiogram, enter the test date and provider, then work in Your measurements. You can use the table for exact entry or click the editable chart.
Option
What to enter
Ear
Right or Left as labeled on the report. Unspecified is available only for unmasked bone conduction.
Conduction / Type
Air or Bone, following the report’s symbol legend.
Hz
The frequency at that point, such as 500 or 1000. This is not the dB level.
dB HL
The reported threshold. Supported range: −20 to 120. Use the table for an exact numeric value.
Masked
Select only when the report identifies the measurement as masked.
NR / No response
Select when the report marks no response at the recorded level. Still enter that level; do not substitute a guessed threshold.
Mask dB
Enter the masking level if the report supplies it. Otherwise leave it blank.
Choose + Add measurement to create a table row, then fill its fields.
Or choose Ear, Conduction, Masked and No response under the chart, then click a position. Chart clicks snap to a supported frequency and 5 dB.
Check the numeric table afterward. Clicking the same ear/type/frequency/masking combination updates its point; it does not add a duplicate.
Add speech, notes, and any reported gaps, confirm review, and save.

[ Bracket
] Bracket
Use the source report’s legend when transcribing. You can Tab through the numeric table. Remove unused blank rows before saving; a test requires at least one valid threshold and supports up to 100 measurements.
For precision or keyboard entry, use the table.
FICTIONAL ENTRY EXAMPLE
For “Right air, 1000 Hz, 35 dB HL”, choose Right → Air → 1000 Hz → 35. Leave Masked and NR off unless the source report marks them. This example is an entry exercise, not a hearing interpretation.
Right-ear chevrons and brackets are drawn just left of the tested frequency; left-ear symbols sit just right. This is a display offset, not a different frequency. A bracket beside 250 Hz still means 250 Hz. Its midpoint gives the dB value. Enter the report’s labeled frequency and level; Sentire applies the offset in charts and PDF exports.
06
KEEP YOUR REPORT BESIDE YOU
Add a missed point.
The report on the right is your reference. Add and correct measurements on Sentire’s editable graph on the left.
Zoom the report if needed and find the missed symbol.
Match its labeled frequency (Hz) and level (dB HL). The report and Sentire may use different spacing or axis ranges; match the labels rather than the same screen position.
Choose the ear, Air or Bone, and any Masked or No response option above the editable graph.
Click the matching position on Sentire’s graph. Use the measurement table to check or adjust the exact values.
No cropping or source-image calibration is required. Repeat for each missed point, enter speech results in the speech fields, then review before saving.
Choose the type before plotting: Air or Bone, together with the ear and Masked option, determines the symbol. To correct an existing point, click its symbol and change Type in the selected measurement row. Clicking a symbol selects it; it does not add a duplicate or change its type.
Match the report labels, click the editable graph, then adjust Type in the measurement row.
POINT & CLICK
Add a point, then change Air to Bone
Silent recording with visible instructions and captions. Fictional demonstration, not a real patient report. Compare the source, choose Right and Air, click 1000 Hz / 30 dB HL, select the symbol, change its row’s Type to Bone, then adjust the exact level.
07
MORE THAN THE THRESHOLDS
The speech score. And the level beside it.
Look for the report’s WORD RECOGNITION box. A speech result is a pair: the presentation level in dB HL and the percent correct at that level.
FICTIONAL WORD-RECOGNITION EXAMPLE
RIGHT EAR95 dB HL → 90%
LEFT EAR90 dB HL → 70%
Enter Right level 95, score 90; Left level 90, score 70. Do not swap the level and percentage.
After importing, scroll to Speech intelligibility points. Supported word-recognition table pairs appear directly in the Right and Left fields.
Check every Level (dB HL) and Correct (%) against the source. If missing, choose + Add Right score or + Add Left score and enter the pair.
Use additional rows only for additional measured scores at different levels. Each ear supports up to 30 distinct levels; presentation levels run from 0 to 120 dB HL and scores from 0 to 100%. Keep one word list/test condition per ear’s series and record those details in Speech material / method.
Check Speech & report summary too: SDT, SRT, reported PTA, summary word recognition, and presentation level. Leave untested fields blank.
The measured pairs—not a traced prediction curve—populate the graph.
Which field controls the graph?
If point rows exist, the graph uses those rows. Edit the point fields to correct a plotted result. When no point series exists, a complete summary recognition score and presentation level provide one point. Editing only the summary does not update an existing point series.
The smooth curves and confidence-interval bars printed on some reports are not imported as measured point series. Sentire connects your measured points; it does not recreate the clinic’s prediction model.
08
THE SMALL PANEL IN THE CORNER
Air–bone gap. Two sources, clearly labeled.
Some reports already contain an AIR–BONE GAP bar chart, usually at the bottom right. Those reported differences are different data from the main chart’s air and bone thresholds.
FROM THE REPORT
Reported gap values
The importer tries to read the small red/right and blue/left bars. Review the five-row table at 0.25, 0.50, 1, 2, and 4 kHz. Values run from −20 to 80 dB.
FROM SAVED THRESHOLDS
Calculated gap values
Sentire subtracts masked bone from air at the same ear/frequency. It excludes unmasked/unspecified bone, missing pairs, and no-response pairs.
In Reported air–bone gap, compare each populated Right/Left cell to the report’s bar panel.
Use a row’s Source button to locate detected bars. Enter a readable missing value manually if needed.
Keep absent or ambiguous values blank. Enter zero only when the report explicitly supplies zero. Tiny bars can be omitted by recognition.
Tick I checked these gap values against the report before saving.
No ear/type dropdowns here: the cells match the report’s small bar panel.
If these cells are blank, you did not miss a setup step.
The automatic importer may not recognize that panel. Main-chart calibration does not populate reported gaps. Enter the visible bars in this table or leave them missing. A correctly populated asymmetry graph does not prove gap bars were detected.
On a single-test dashboard, reported gaps take priority when present; otherwise the calculated gap panel is shown. The gap panel sits beside air-conduction asymmetry on desktop. Bars start at the emphasized zero line: positive above, negative below. Reported values never create bone thresholds.
09
YOUR EVERYDAY STARTING POINT
The latest test. The longer view.
Choose Overview to see your latest saved audiogram, recent history, supporting graphs, and a date-based history chart.
Latest means test date. Uploading an older report does not make it the latest test.
Air PTA cards use 500, 1000, and 2000 Hz thresholds. Missing or no-response components leave the calculated average unavailable. Reported PTA from the clinic remains separate.
Air-conduction asymmetry is Right minus Left at the same frequency. A positive value means the Right recorded threshold is numerically higher; a negative value means the Left is higher.
View plotted values opens the numeric values behind a supporting graph.
View test opens the underlying saved record and its context.
Masked thresholds take priority where both masking conditions exist. An unavailable value is not a zero. Graphs are descriptions of recorded measurements, not a diagnosis.
10
FOLLOW THE VISITS
A history you can move through.
Choose Hearing timeline to see tests by date.
In Follow the fluctuations, choose a measurement: PTA or an individual frequency.
Choose a Time range and Ear. Date ranges end today, so an older test can disappear when a recent range is selected.
Hover, focus, or tap a point to inspect it, then choose Open source test → beneath the chart to open the saved record.
Change the filter to ask a smaller question of the same history.
Missing and no-response values leave gaps. Lines link saved tests; they do not predict hearing between visits. Conditions may differ between appointments.
11
PUT TWO VISITS IN CONTEXT
Choose a baseline. Look at the difference.
You need at least two saved tests. Choose Compare tests, then:
Set Baseline to the reference test.
Set Compare with to the other test. The summary follows this direction, so check both dates.
Choose Ear and Conduction: Air, Bone, or Air & bone.
Under Show additional tests, select optional overlays. Up to four tests are shown; baseline and comparison stay visible.
Hover, focus, or tap plotted points. Open See the measurements behind this summary for the paired values and changes. Choose Export selected tests as PDF to export the tests in the comparison.
The dates and test conditions matter as much as the overlay.
Why are some pairs excluded?
Missing values, no-response values, and mismatched masking conditions cannot be compared directly by this summary. Unmasked bone is excluded from ear-specific change summaries. With Air & bone selected, both are drawn, but the numerical summary describes air thresholds.
Open a saved test from Overview or Hearing timeline. Choose Edit test, make corrections, confirm review, and choose Save changes.
Test date controls chronological placement. Use the actual visit date.
Provider / clinic records where the test came from.
Test conditions / equipment can capture reported conditions such as inserts or aided/unaided testing. Do not guess details absent from the report.
Test title gives you a useful label; notes preserve context in your own words.
All recorded measurements in the saved-test view lets you check the underlying table.
To remove a test, choose Delete test and confirm. There is no undo button; keep a backup first if you may need it. Deletion does not remove your original report or earlier exports/backups.
What if I leave a draft or edit the same test elsewhere?
Sentire warns before discarding unsaved changes. Saved records use revision checks; if another window changed the test, reload before editing again. Do not delete the database to resolve an editing conflict.
13
YOUR PERSONAL WORKSPACE
A little about you. Only on your computer.
Open My details to change the local name or profile notes, then choose Save details. A name is required for workspace access; notes are optional. Your name appears on exported hearing reports.
Sentire currently keeps one person’s history per local workspace. The name is not an online account and does not verify purchase ownership. No cloud sign-in or automatic sharing is involved.
About Sentire in the sidebar shows the app version and privacy notes. Check that version when following instructions or asking for help.
14
TAKE A USEFUL RECORD WITH YOU
Share a report. Keep a backup.
Format
Use it for
Where to find it
PDF hearing report
A readable report with audiograms, recorded values, notes, and supporting graphs. Share it deliberately.
Export PDF on an individual test, or Backup & export → PDF hearing report for your history.
Structured JSON export
A portable, structured copy of your profile and saved test data. Sentire can restore it.
Backup & export → Structured JSON export.
SQLite database backup
A database backup of your local hearing history, also restorable by Sentire.
Backup & export → SQLite database backup.
The desktop app opens a native save dialog. Choose a filename and destination you can find again. Saving an export does not send it to your audiologist or a cloud service.
Exports contain personal hearing information.
Store and share them carefully. They are not encrypted by Sentire. None of these hearing-history exports includes the separate license token or your original imported PDF.
15
A LITTLE PEACE OF MIND
Keep a copy. Know how to come back.
Open Backup & export and save a JSON export or SQLite backup somewhere secure.
Keep original source reports separately. Keep your license email and order ID separately.
To restore, choose Choose backup and select a Sentire JSON or SQLite file.
Read the preview: it shows the profile name and number of tests.
Choose Replace with this backup only when that is what you intend, then confirm.
Restore is a replacement, not an append or merge.
Restoring replaces the current history.
Sentire creates a local recovery snapshot before replacement, but that snapshot is not a substitute for an independent backup. Invalid backup files are rejected. If a backup needs a newer Sentire version, update the app rather than deleting your data.
How do I move to another computer?
On the old computer, export a JSON or SQLite backup and keep original reports separately. Install a compatible desktop build on the new computer, enter a local name and restore the backup. Activate the new installation with your original emailed license; contact support if both slots are used.
16
WHAT STAYS. WHAT GOES.
Your report stays your business.
01Your original file
Stays wherever you saved it.
→
02A temporary draft
Read and previewed on your computer.
→
03Values you save
Measurements and details, not the PDF.
No report is sent to a cloud OCR or AI service. Import runs locally. The upload progress refers to the local importer.
The source PDF/image is not attached to the saved test. Temporary working files are normally removed after processing. The preview and extracted text remain available while reviewing the draft.
Deleting a test does not delete Downloads. Your original file stays untouched. Earlier exports, backups, and recovery snapshots also remain until you remove them.
Offline means local, not encrypted. Protect your operating-system account, device, and backup locations. Sentire does not encrypt its records.
Activation is separate. The license service receives the purchase credential and installation public key, not hearing records. The app saves a computer-bound token and checks it offline. Your installation identity and license are excluded from hearing-history backups.
Feedback is optional. Only the text and contact details you submit through the support form are sent to the service. The app does not upload hearing records or automatic diagnostics.
Desktop and browser-development installations have separate data locations. The customer app is the desktop application; this guide and the product website cannot access your hearing-history database.
17
WHEN SOMETHING LOOKS OFF
A few things worth checking first.
The PDF seems to be doing nothing.
Check the import progress indicator. After the local transfer, recognition has an animated processing stage rather than a percentage. Wait up to a minute. If it errors or times out, try a clearer single page as PNG, a smaller file, or manual entry. The previous draft is retained after an import error.
The source preview is missing.
Some development installations may lack PDF rendering support. Try exporting the relevant page as PNG/JPG and import that. Keep the original report available for review. The public installer’s final platform requirements remain under development.
The wrong date or latest test appears.
Enter the report’s test date after choosing the page. Imports deliberately clear it. The latest test is chosen by test date, not import time. To find older tests, open Hearing timeline or widen its time range.
The air–bone gap table is still blank.
Automatic detection is layout-limited and can omit tiny or unclear bars. No right-side calibration step is required for that panel. Use the five-row reported-gap table to enter readable bars manually. Do not convert blanks into zero. Enter reported bars in the reported-gap table; the editable main graph adds thresholds.
Asymmetry works, but air–bone gap does not.
Asymmetry needs paired Right and Left air thresholds. Calculated air–bone gap needs same-ear air and masked bone thresholds. Reported gap uses its own bar-panel import. These have different inputs, so one graph can populate while the other stays empty.
The speech graph is empty or ignores my summary edit.
A speech point needs both a level and a score. Check Speech intelligibility points first. Existing point rows take priority over summary fields, so correct the point row to change that plotted value. If no point rows exist, a complete summary recognition score/presentation-level pair can supply one point.
Save audiogram does not work.
Check the test date, at least one valid threshold, any blank added rows, and duplicate frequencies for the same ear/type/masking. Complete the imported threshold review, reported-gap review if values exist, and the final “I have checked these measurements” checkbox. The error near Save identifies what remains.
A comparison leaves some values out.
Read the excluded-pairs note under the summary. Missing/no-response values and differing masking conditions are intentionally excluded; unmasked bone is not treated as directly comparable for one ear. Choose the intended baseline, target, ear and conduction type.
My license is rejected, or the entry box is missing.
Paste the complete license from your purchase email. Initial activation needs internet. A license from another computer’s saved activation will not work on a new installation. If already activated, the entry box is intentionally hidden. Use Email my license again for recovery; contact support with your order ID if activation allowance is used.
I accidentally deleted or replaced a test.
Restore a previously saved backup if you have one, understanding that restore replaces the history. Before a restore, Sentire saves a local recovery snapshot. Deletion has no undo button; a copy in an earlier export or original report may be needed. Do not delete the database as a troubleshooting step.
18
A SMALL GLOSSARY
The labels, in plain language.
Hz / kHz
Frequency labels on the report. 0.25 kHz is 250 Hz; 0.50 is 500 Hz; 1 is 1000 Hz.
dB HL
The level unit used for audiogram thresholds and speech presentation levels. Copy the level as reported; it is not a percentage.
Word recognition / WRS
A recorded percent-correct score. Keep it paired with its presentation level and test conditions.
SRT / SDT
Speech reception threshold / speech detection threshold. Sentire stores the report’s values separately from word-recognition scores.
Reported PTA
The average printed by the clinic. Sentire keeps it separate from its own 500/1000/2000 Hz air average.
Masked / unmasked
A test-condition flag. Use the source report’s legend; do not change it just to populate a graph.
NR
No response at the recorded level. Sentire excludes these measurements from calculations that require a measured threshold.
Baseline
The reference saved test selected in Compare tests. The comparison summary is measured relative to it.
Reported / calculated
Reported values are transcribed from the source. Calculated values are derived from the saved measurements. Sentire labels them separately.
License token / order ID
The emailed license activates the app; the order ID identifies your purchase for support and cannot activate it. Keep both safe.
